“Nowadays, the attics and alcoves of England are bare…”
Imagine a future where books have died out. Where holographic computer systems replace not just entertainment, but all media and retail too. Where high streets become desolate and abandoned.
The Last Bookshop is a 20-minute short, exploring this fictional world through the eyes of a small boy.
Down an unexplored alleyway, the boy makes an extraordinary discovery…
The last ever bookshop.
Inside he meets the Shopkeeper, a kindly old man who has been patiently waiting for his first customer in over 25 years.
Post-production on this short film was completed in April 2012, and it is currently submitting to festivals. You can track progress on our regularly updated Last Bookshop Blog
